Accepted as well. Interviewed 10/31. I got a really good vibe when i interviewed here. Everyone seemed like they were happy to be there and the environment seemed super supportive. 99% percent positive I'll take the acceptance. To those accepted as well, I'll see you all in Philly!!!

Any one know if there will be dedicated board time and a pass/fail grading system starting next year?

I think during my tour, they said something about pass/fail but I cannot remember. Also, wondering if anyone heard anything about the board study time. Thanks!

At my interview, they said they're working on switching over to pass/fail, but the incoming class will probably be letter grades (instead of the current 90,91,92, etc). For boards, they said there are about 3 weeks of no classes, but for a few weeks before that, they only have one class a day max.

Really hope they increase the amount of time for boards. Did they say anything about USMLE or COMLEX and if COMLEX is required?

CONGRATS!!!!

if you interviewed on 10/25, i wonder if the 11/7 interviewees are in the same batch of decisions ahhh i'll be obsessively checking my mail!!!
Can you let us know if your portal changes, because my mail is so slow i wonder if portal will change before mail comes!
Hey I got the packet in the mail (it's a really big envelope with a cool letter) but the portal didn't change until a day or so after I received the formal letter!

I was thinking the same thing, but all of the students I talked to said they felt comfortable with the amount of time they have since lectures are optional to attend 99% of the time. As for boards, many of the current OM1s and OM2s elect to take both, and I think the COMLEX is required at least until the merger. From what I've heard though, it makes sense to take the COMLEX anyway since most of the DO residencies will prefer DO med students over MD.

Yeah thats true, I know several of my friends have at least 6 week dedicated sometimes even up to 12 weeks. But as long as the students feel well prepared it shouldn't be a problem.

my interview was not conversational one bit. I was drilled with questions about my mcat, and a series of ethical and just hypothetical questions right after another. Once I answered the question he nodded his head and said "okay" and moved on to the next question. I wasn't asked once about the DO philosophy or PCOM at all for that matter. Oh, and I also didn't get interviewed by a third year student.
I have a interview coming up at PCOM. Would you mind answering a few questions? Did you have a panel of interviewers or 1-on-1? (I have not had a panel interview yet, so I am a bit nervous about this, how different is it from a 1-on-1 interview) Were you asked to elaborate on your answers? or did it feel like a fast-paced series of questions with no reactions from the interviewers? Have you received feedback/decision after your interview.

I had a similar experience at a previous interview and I actually ended up with an acceptance so I've learned that how I feel during and after an interview is not a definite indication of how the interview might have gone from the perspective of the interviewer.

Also for anyone who have been rejected or wait-listed: looking back at the interview what would you do differently if anything.

Thank you in advance. I hope your application process is going well.

I was WL last year. My interview last year went by pretty quickly. Something I would've done differently is actually relaxed and expanded more on my experiences with examples. I did a little of that the first time but I was super nervous and shaky it was probably visible.

Completed everything and received 10/29. Haven't heard anything. Am I just being impatient or should I be concerned?
No. I have been compete since late September. Others have been complete longer than me and are still waiting. Patience my friend. I know it's hard.

To anyone who has sent their completed technical standards form: have you received a confirmation email saying it has been received?

As far as I can tell, interviews up to 11/7 have received responses. Has anyone from a later interview date heard anything yet? I had a mid - November interview.
Also, congrats to all accepted so far! :)

Sorry if this has been answered, im new to the thread:

I was complete early october. But the portal does not give much information and it says
  • Once your application is complete, no further application status updates will be posted to this portal. Application status information is also not provided via phone or email inquiry at any time.
So my question is... how am I supposed to know my current status? Or if I do have a status change... how will I know?

They will email you when decision is made. Basically they are saying not to reach out to them regarding their decision/be patient.

It just means that once you're complete they'll contact you by e-mail for an interview even if months have passed and you haven't heard from them. You may still be in consideration after waiting this long but they can't tell you one way or another over the phone. Only time the portal will change now is when you're accepted and need to make a deposit for the seat.

Does PCOM do silent rejections? I submitted my app early October and have an LM of 68. Figured I had a pretty good shot at this school but I'm starting to wonder if maybe I don't considering I haven't heard a thing.

I submitted in early august with a similar LM and also haven't heard anything so I'm assuming yes.

There's still time for an interview invite. I submitted mid-September and didn't get an II till six weeks later. Technically they don't mail out rejections till the end of the entire application cycle in August but if you don't receive an II by end of March when their interview cycle is over it's self-explanatory.

To ease some of you, when they send you an II, they give you a date that isn't too far from the day you receive the II. Since the cycle is still long, dont give up! They might just want to interview you a bit later.

Question. Is the technical standard document the one we received in the interview invite or is an official one sent to use with the acceptance letter?

I haven't gotten mine yet even tho I have the deposit link >_> currently having issues with the mail carriers tho and I keep getting reminders to send it in.
