Has anyone submitted an update here post-interview? Do you know what the process for that is?

Based on last year's thread, some people got IIs in early to mid-January for dates in early February.

For the last couple years, to my understanding at least, post-interview acceptance rate has been between 20% and 25%. I can’t imagine that interviewing later in the cycle would hurt your chances significantly, since they don’t even start releasing decisions until early winter. It’s possible that interviewing after the new year could slightly diminish your chances, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

M1 here. I have not had a take-home exam yet. Also, the vast majority of lectures are available in-person. However, many of us choose to not attend all in-person lectures, because they’re recorded and can be watched sped-up and at your leisure.

One true flipped classroom we had last quarter was Biochemsitry. We watched short videos on the week’s topic (usually around an hour of video content per week total), and then there were optional TA sessions to do practice-problems and ask questions that some of us attended. There were also group sessions that were technically not required but that essentially everyone attended because they were well-done and very helpful. In these sessions, you worked with a group of 5 or 6 people to figure out answers to clinically relevant biochem problems, in a kind of story-format. Then, the TAs would discuss the answers with the class at large. Many of us found Biochem to be one of the best-designed and most interesting classes last quarter—it was easy to tailor it to your own learning style and to spend as much or as little time on each section as needed.

On the other hand, our anatomy class, which was also well-taught and very interesting, was more traditional. There were lectures (which were also recorded if you wanted to watch them later) followed by dissection work in the anatomy lab. There were also many other optional tools, such as the Complete Anatomy app, recordings of prior years’ lectures that you could watch beforehand, and many TA review sessions held in the lab.

Hope that helped—please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!

IIRC from interview day, they seemed to indicate that decisions would be released sometime in March.

On my interview day they said decisions would be released “by March” but that there were still three decision dates. I interviewed in October

Oh, I dunno then. I interviewed at the end of November so maybe by that date they anticipated all forthcoming decisions to be sent on the last day. Or I just misunderstood :p

For those who have already interviewed: approx what time does the interview day start? I know they say to arrive the night before, but how necessary is this? I'll be coming from berkeley/oakland area and wondering if I can swing driving in the morning of.

I don't know the time, but being from the area I doubt it's worth risking morning rush hour traffic, especially since you have to cross the bridge and that can get gnarly.

Also submitted late September! I think they're just getting to the September applicants because someone who submitted in mid-September got an interview last week. Holding out hope until the end of January!

I'm probably just being paranoid right now, but we only need to bring our AMCAS ID number for the interview right? The wording of the email makes it seem like we need a physical AMCAS ID card.

I haven't received an interview here but I've never heard of a physical amcas ID. Just have your number handy and bring some form of identification like a driver's license or passport just to be safe.

Right, there's no physical card. You just need to know your AMCAS ID for their MMI sign-in procedure. Good luck!

Any MSTP interviewees know if they will be doing Jan acceptances this cycle as in those past or all in March?

At my interview, they told us as a group (together with MD-only applicants) that we would hear "by March," but they were just as vague during the MSTP orientation on the non-MMI day. I had gotten the impression that they weren't planning on sending all decisions on one go, though. So, basically, I am of zero help to you with your question and I'm not sure why I tried to answer

I think from last year's thread the last anyone posted of an II was 1/11. I am also holding onto hope that those who applied to KH who did not get an II yet might get one around the time KH finalists are announced (1/15).

Stanford's website says that apps are "reviewed and invitations to interview are sent out" from July to March, so I think we should hold out hope until the end of February

Nope, sadly they don't. It sucks especially for people who have updates from the fall that could possibly boost their chances of receiving an interview.

Would any brave soul like to volunteer themselves as tribute and call the adcom office asking when admissions decisions will be released?

It seems that it's either all in March or in batches starting mid-January.

Can someone comment on the MMI structure here? Not the exact questions but like if they use actors and if there are group stations, regular interview stations, etc. Thanks in advance!
