Are you guys getting email responses from admissions? I haven't received a single response to the 3 emails I sent out 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago, and 1 week ago respectively...

@bigal123
What were these emails about? Just the status of your secondary application?
From my understanding, those are generally discouraged and I wouldn't be surprised by a lack of response.

No, I'm not that annoying lol, they were about issues with my application
From what I remember, UNC doesn't accept application updates. I know that updates is not the same as issues, but maybe they think it is? Have you tried calling?

Does anybody know if it is considered frowned upon to underload your second semester senior year? I would still be considered a full-time student, but would be enrolled in less than 12 credit hours.

I don't know if this came up already but I'm curious to know how many interviews UNC does on interview day? Is it still two interviews plus those stations? And are interviewers still told in advance who their interviewer will be?

It's one traditional interview plus 5 MMI stations. You don't know who your interviewer is beforehand, but they will have read your application prior. At least that's how mine was.

Thank you! Any tips on prepping for this? How long did it last? Do they give a tour through he whole UNC campus or just the medical facilities?
They actually don't give an official tour at all, but they show a couple of videos about student life and the campus. You'll get to see two of the medical school buildings during your interview day. I'm sure the student admissions ambassadors would be willing to take a quick walk around with you after the day is over.

Thank you!! Just trying to figure how much walking will be involved

I would say a moderate amount of walking. Definitely not a lot since you don't have an official tour. I don't really have any prep advice as I feel as though my prep didn't really help. Just go in there and don't be rude or obnoxious.

Since UNC said the earliest anyone would hear back post-interview will be December, do you think most that interviewed before December will hear back then?

I called and asked admissions the same question, and they told me everyone interviewing before December will hear back in December... not sure if that's actually the case or if I misunderstood if someone else wants to call and ask!

That's what I heard too but I wonder why they aren't doing a round of decisions in November like usual.

I asked. Basically, they want to look at the class holistically (i.e. what will each prospective student bring to the class?). So if they wait, they can get a better idea of how that might look, rather than sending a round of acceptances each time and morphing the class into what they want/are looking for later.

Acceptance notice in December is what was stated in the material given at the interview.
From the Admissions Process Timeline: "November-December: We will begin releasing offers of acceptance in December, and subsequently in February, March and April. We will also send unsuccessful notifications at those times. Please be patient, we will do our best to update you on your status as soon as possible."

Did everyone who has interviewed receive a financial aid email?

Would they send those to everyone or accepted interviewees only?

Nope, but maybe that's because I interviewed towards the end of Oct and added them to my FAFSA already

Any MSTP people receive the CASPer email today? It made it sound like MSTP invites had started going out
I know someone who also got that email, but I did not (probs not a good sign for me...)

I did, too. The email was strangely worded, but in the email they sent after submitting your secondary "UNC School of Medicine Supplemental Process Information", under Scheduling Interviews, they say "We will be reviewing applications near the end of November. Candidates selected for interviews will be notified by email before the December holiday season." So I think they're sending this to give us a "head start" from when they begin reviewing apps at the end of the month.

I got it too. I saw dates and got excited before I realized it was about CASPer.

Does anyone know what time the Monday interviews usually finish up? Trying to book flights and can't seem to find much about the time schedule for the day.

I haven't sent my casper in yet, so I'm not sure what to make of this.
You only have to send in CASPer after the interview right? (And its probably not even going to get used this year anyways).

Do they send rejections? Or will they tell us at the end of interview season? Starting to give up on this school...
