2020-2021 Tulane

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
today marks 2 full months since complete and in progress ...... The day I get my green checkmark from this school is going to be a wonderful day!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry
It's been soooo long. Do you think they will get mad if I call? Some august people have been marked green and I haven't. if I ask" oh I was wondering if there are any technical difficulties on my end etc, will they look down on that?

I'm pretty sure they say not to call to ask about your application, right? They don't necessarily review apps in chronological order. I'd just continue to be patient!

I don't mean to sound like a smartass, but they did indicate, "the admissions office does not accept phone calls, email or communication regarding the status of your application". I think it's best to just sit tight and follow the instructions.

anyone who did Tulane ED know when we’ll hear tomorrow? or do you still think it’ll be tomorrow or do you think it will be delayed this year because of covid19?”

Haven’t received the secondary yet. RIP any chance for here?
Congrats to everyone with interviews so far.

When did you submit? It took 2 weeks for Tulane to send me their secondary back in early-mid July.

As for whether or not to apply, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Anyone who applied ED hear back yet, or know when we're supposed to hear back today/how? Not sure if Tulane calls or emails to notify acceptance decisions.

During my interview someone said that we'd hear back either October 1st or 3-5 weeks after the interview.
but someone also said AMCAS requires ED applicants to hear back today
either way is a **** show

I spoke too soon. Secondary just arrived. I should be able to get that in tonight or tomorrow. And I absolutely agree with your sentiment.

Best of luck to everyone.

Happy October Everyone!

For all the people that got in, first off CONGRATS!!!! :soexcited: :soexcited::soexcited::soexcited: How was your overall interview experience?
I truly loved the interview experience, personally. It was very informal and more of a conversation. I did practice for the standardized patient exercise with the attending I shadowed with at Georgetown a few days prior, which I think helped a lot. But overall, if invited to interview it is more about personality than academics at that point, so being your true, genuine self is probably the best advice I would offer. Obviously make sure you do your research about why you would want to join Tulane, and highlight community service, community-medicine etc.

Could you describe the order of events/timeline throughout the interview day?

First it was welcome session by the admissions director, then it was Standardized patient interview, then break (or you hangout in the main zoom conference call, then its faculty interview and then finally student interview! Hope this helps - if you have more questions PM me and I will try my best to help!

Totally understand the NDAs but I was just curious if you might be able to talk a bit more about what the standardized patient interview entailed? We don't need any actual medical knowledge right lol

no medical knowledge needed, they understand people have different experiences and since you're not a medical student you're not supposed to know anything

I guess they just don't want to see you be like Dr. House when on patient duty 🙂

   Same here! I've been distracting myself waiting for these schools to *hopefully* reach out by spending time painting and discovering new podcasts. What have you guys been doing to ease the neurosis?

Trying to learn how to cook and going on runs... complete since 8/1 and nothing. I'm not even under review. It's not over til it's over...

I am non-ED and my application was marked "complete" on 8/6 and I still have that "red" circle thing next to "In Progress". Anyone else in a similar boat?
