Roseman invited me to interview without doing the supplemental. They have not been my first choice, but since they decided to interview me even without the supplemental, I thought to myself to go see the school, to make a small vacay/tour out of it at least. I did complete the supplemental after the interview invitation :)

wow you have great stats then?! :)
so did you visit them and liked it before you went ahead and submitted your supplemental?
are you interviewing in Henderson or South Jordan?

In the beginning I wasn't even considering them. If i did the supplemental early like the other schools they would have given me an early interview date but like i said I wasn't considering going there..then I got the interview invitation and decided to complete the supp. Interview is Henderson. i did not visit the school, i just said yes to the interview since it's an opportunity to go to Vegas. They're still not my first choice but might as well go see the school and spend time in vegas since I did the trouble of going through the whole PharmCAS process and applying to all the schools. Have nothing to lose i think :) and you never know maybe i'll really like them..my stats are ok..not the greatest..but I do think I'm a very well rounded applicant. ~3.4 gpa with 3+ years pharmacy experience + comm service

Okay guys...is there anyone who knows current Roseman student???? specificly students from Cali. I live in LA and I have no idea when to move over there or things that I should be aware(I just thought I should plan it ahead since I will be out of country right before class starts). I wonder if they have FB page to get info as such????!!!!!!!!!

I'm from Cali too. I asked them on the interview day and they said once the list of class is finalized and they have everyone, they'll send us an email with information of other students so we can contact them and arrange to either room with them or get our own place. That's pretty much all they said that they will do so I assume we need to figure everything out ourselves. You can try and post on last year's SDN page and see if they can help.. I'll post on here if I find out about anything. hope this helps!! :)

    Hey!
I'm one class away from meeting the requirements to start the program in the fall. I'm missing A&P I. Does anyone know of a good online school or local (Nevada) who does A&P I that will accept my 10yr degree transcripts? I'm currently living in Cali at the moment and will be relocating to the valley within the next month. I've already contacted Roseman and am awaiting their reply back so I thought I'd ask you all. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I'm currently living in Cali. I used to live out there when my husband went through the program class of 2016. What questions do you have? We're currently looking for a house out there so we can move back.

It seems like we are on the same boat so I will keep you posted if I find anything useful. which part of Cali are you from btw?

Well I have a lot of questions but here is a few...
-Does students usually rent/lease apartment? or rent a house and share it with other students?
-Is it helpful to live with students for the purpose of studying and motivation?
-I assume Car is very important but how important(or until what year of pharmacy? during rotation year?)?how do most students commute?
    -is there close by apartments?
-When is a good time to move since school starts by end of Aug?
...lol i have other questions but this should do it.
    THANK YOU

    - Rent apartment unless you have money for a house
    - I don't think so? Unless you like to party and hangout. Most of the people I know study by themselves or study at school late at night. Having a roommate can be distracting.
    - Very important - You will need it for all 3 years.
    - Yes.
    - I moved here in July just to drive around and know the area a bit.
    Good luck ^_^

Hey! thank you for answering my questions.I think I might move in July as well.Haha well...I do like to party and have fun but I don't think I would have time and energy for that so I might as well rent my own apartment....but is it affordable? is that most students do...get their own their apt?:eyebrow:
Before you moved did you look the apartments online or you went there first for apt hunting? what did you do?

    thank you again

I'm from Orange County! I think I will rent my own apartment, at least for the first year because everyone tells me that having a roommate is kind of a hit or miss thing. if you don't exactly get along it can be very stressful and we kind of need to be very focused our first year. haha

Apartments here are ok. Not too cheap but not super expensive. I would look into Henderson, and green valley area. Adobe Ranch is really nice and quiet, but it is a bit more than other places around there. As for most students, I know at least 40% live by themselves, the rest are at home or have roommates.

    Good luck

Is Roseman university college of pharmacy worth going? I have seen tremendous bad reviews ? I got accepted back in November and now I'm worried. Can anyone tell me a factual based answer and not an opinion please. Like what is the school retention rate and license exam passing rate. I'm from SoCal and appreciate your honest comment!

If you got accepted then you should have had the answers to your questions by now because they cover about all that information on the interview day right before the inteview (during the first 1-1.5 hrs). Plus you have so many students shareing their experiences that day.. If you knew what to ask and did your research before then you should have gotten your answers that day.

Their passing rate was a little low than they typically had before. It was 93% last year.

They are a decent school. I think the hard part is to maintain above 90% progress at all times but its challenging and exciting at the same time, so I tend to think of it as a good thing (for becoming a competent PharmD). I don't usually make statements without having sufficient information, although its up to you to believe/trust my statement about the school being decent.. I've done my own research and they sound great to me ( someone else's needs & lifestyle may not match well with their program - there's always a subjectivity in sharing all these experiences, even facts).

I choose them over many schools. And for you - try to remember the interview day. It should have given you lots of factual info (besides the advertising and all) if you used that opportunity fully.

    My best!

Thank you for your comment. My only concern from the beginning was the school reputation and I can't denie the fact that school's changed its name 3 times due to bad reputation. This was what I heard during my interview from a P1 student and I didn't believe it until I researched on my own. NAPlAX rate is relible , and finding a true retention rate from the school it's self is hard as well.

Roseman university this year has almost 90% acceptance rate. It rarely happens someone get rejected. Since pharmacy job is dying not that many people apply like before. Research about Roseman before accepting their offer. I have talked to at least 10 p1 and p2 and non of them were happy about the school . That's sad .... when they accept students with 10 year old transcript then it speaks for it self that they want your money desperately.

A P2 student who is a friend of mine and also is one of the interviewer told me. They really have a hard time this year to fill their class. When they accept someone with 10 year old transcript and 2.8 gpa, who I know them both personally it speaks for itself. Let me ask you a valid and fact based question; what is Roseman ranking ? Have you ever seen any " block system" school to be among even top 50 schools? They can't pull something from their butt and keep advertising on it and think it really works. Look at the top 10 or top 50 school system. The answer should be obvious. If someone has no choice then ofcourse that's a good school for those. I wonder what the job opportunity is for someone graduating from Roseman in California? Also you have to study California law on your own since they teach you Nevada one.

Western University of Health Sciences also uses a block system. Now you're going to say it's not top tier and all...

Listen.., you're going to have a problem for every solution we give you here.. And it's okay, I understand that. But the problem is not the school. Its the fear everyone of us have because its an accelerated program and hard to handle. It's not the school. Responsibly evaluate your own self, your behavior, habits, time management skills, look inside you.. only then you'll answer your question whether its worth going to Roseman.

Think a bit. Apply your own judgement, dont rely on what you hear right & left.. Consider everything you are saying is right. Now ask yourself okay, so what? What is your goal after all? Are you ready for it? Do you understand what you're shooting for? Can you be responsible?. Listen.. this is not socialism. You have to go get the thing you want, the school is providing it whether its for profit or not for profit. They are not going to disappear. They've done a great job so far and grew so much. They're opening a med school, they have dental, nursing, mba.. Your pharmacy school is not going to disappear, relax.. Its going to teach you exact same thing as other schools do. You just have to be able to consume it.

For a record - I have volunteered in a hospital (inpatient) pharmacy where the PharmD was a Roseman graduate. How do you think he found that job? How about saying that person just put some good effort and found it? You don't agree, I got it already.. bring on the problem.

Trump, Hillary, Reseman, USC ... these are secondary arguments if you really really really know what pharmacist is and does and CAN DO (jobwise) and if you're understanding the market.

I some-what agree about this. In the past (5 years ago when i applied for it), its hard to get into this school. PCAT is one of the requirements to apply for the program. Now, if you have a BS and full-fill prerequisites, you won't have to take the PCAT. Also, they don't even care about/require reference letters. I think because of many new pharmacy schools opened recently, the school makes the process easier so that they have enough students to fill the class (it's a profit school).

One of my relatives got a BS from his "foreign country", took all pre-pharmacy prerequisites in the US, and submitted supplemental docs (01/2017), he got an invitation for interview after a few days. He had no pharmacy experience, volunteer or healthcare related activities, and academic achievement. I couldn't believe that he got the invitation for an interview that easy and quick (just a few days after supplemental docs submitted).

I do agree with most part of your comments .However the focus should be on the student and school both. I know what I am capable of and I want to invest my time and money on a school with good reputation . For your record Western is not a block system school per say ... just it's second and third year turns to somewhat block system when you get block exams. Way different with block system is being offered at Roseman .BTW Western is a decened school that is ranked very low...I am not here to be against any school or advertise for another . How about you?!! Are you a roseman staff or student? Your comments are opinion based and mine is fact back based. I just provided some facts such system and ranking which is tangible for everyone. Of course at the end of day no matter where you go, you will be a pharmacist if you pass NAPLEX, however I personally prefer to go to a more prestigious school when I'm paying the same. I'm sure others will do the same if they have a better choice..... read what I wrote on my last comments. I just provided some facts but you are biased ... I am also surprised why you spreading false information here. Western university is a semester system and anyone can go on Pharmcas and click on school information and then click on western or any school to see the valid info.

I am not a Roseman staff nor a student. I am just an applicant who is also interested in Roseman. And there is no false info in what I wrote because that's how WesternU describes its curriculum during the PharmD open house (unless its changed now and Im not aware of). It might not officially be called block system but the essence is the same.

Anyway, the choice is yours after all. And yes, I tend to express my opinion of course after having/gathering sufficient amount of information/fact to do so.
    Good luck to you usc110!

I completely agree with those who said that it really depends on you and your specific goals and not so much the school that you get your PharmD from. A family friend of mine graduated from Roseman just a couple years ago and is now a full time pharmacist at a successful compounding pharmacy in LA.
And since it was mentioned that "the is school is after your money", you can say that about many many private (non-state) programs. I know a lot of USC pharmacy students complain about that too and yet there are many successful pharmacists who graduated from USC and are very happy with their decision. So It has to do a lot with your attitude and your goals after graduation. There are pros and cons with every school or program. :)
    Good luck to you all!

I was going to do the dual but then I asked pharmacists who are in the managment position and most of them said they worked their way up(they didn't have the MBA).However they mentioned the job demand might be diffrent in the future. So I'm still in debate If i should do MBA considering how hard the PharmD is at Roseman and of course summer breaks....
