For this question, if your answer is no, make sure you type N/A into the text box because they didn't set it up as an optional question and you have to type something. If it's not this, I'm not sure. But just make sure you've filled everything out

do you know if its recommended to answer the last prompt about how racism has affected your journey to medical school, or is it truly optional? I am half URM (indo-trinidadian) so im not sure if they would want me to write an essay in addition to my diversity essay

I have typed N/A in all empty text boxes and am still getting an error message that says "an error occurred. Please retry or contact support."

Anyone else getting this error message?

Did anyone else receive a prereq discrepancy email? I did not realize EVMS requires all prereqs to be complete prior to APPLICATION rather than matriculation. I have one outstanding smh

This is on their website though

Applicants must have taken the MCAT and completed a minimum of 90 semester hours before submitting a primary application, including the below-required prerequisite courses; and, a Bachelor's Degree must be obtained no later than matriculation at an accredited university in the United States or Canada.

Is anyone having trouble submitting secondary to EVMS? I have tried 4 times in the last two days, the button "Submit my responses and pay" never works when I click it. I have answered all the questions (even the optional ones). I have tried to put my full name on the signature AND full name and date. Nothing works... :(

Is the submit button not highlighted? I remember there was one box that said optional but i had to put n/a in to submit

Thank you!! I did that and now it is blue and highlighted but it says an error occurred please contact support... So frustrating...

I have been experiencing the same. No matter what I do, I still am getting that error...

Just got a rejection email, then a follow-up saying to ignore it :( My heart stopped for a few seconds

Edit: It was actually an email saying that I withdrew, which was a technical error on their part.

Hey, does anybody know if the 30 day deadline a hard deadline? Will submitting after the 30 day mark mean that my application is trashed?

"NOTE: SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER DECEMBER 31."
this was in my secondary app email, so it sounds like it's not a hard deadline
 
I applied very late last cycle and was told to reapply bc they had already finished their class selection otherwise they would’ve interviewed me so I reapplied and just now got a pre secondary rejection?? Is this because there’s new management?

Sorry to hear about the rejection, it can be super tough to get. I'm not aware of any new management at EVMS and their screening process for secondaries is a big black box. As people say: rejection is redirection. Hopefully the rest of your cycle goes great. Wishing you the best!

yeah idk what their process is bc i was waitlisted last cycle and just got pre-secondary rejection

I'm wondering if you're more likely to receive a pre-secondary rejection the later you submit your primary.

The post secondary screen I imagine is holistic but generally a pre secondary screen is mostly if not solely minimum stat based (ie mcat>500 and gpa >2.8). That is how most schools seem to operate, but no one really knows how evms truly sorts applicants

EVMS does it differently than most schools. Their screen is holistic and there are people every year with a 3.6+ gpa and 510+ MCAT that get a pre-secondary rejection.

I know this is the first cycle where EVMS merged with ODU.. I don't know if that really changes anything though.. But I agree with everyone else, they screen more holistically and look at demographics.
 
Just submitted my supplemental, but no confirmation email for payment or submission. Do they not send one?
 
II today, IS, URM, Complete July 12th. LM 67.4

Just got off the phone with them! They basically just asked me where I would be taking the outstanding pre-req course and immediately sent me the application complete email. Guess we are still in the running :)
 
II today, OOS! Context because I know it’s something we all long for on these II posts: UG GPA is 2.8, SMP GPA 4.0, MCAT 509. Complete email 8/1.

Submitted my secondary 9 days ago and still haven't received a complete email, has it taken anyone more than a week to be marked as complete? I had everything in by the time I submitted

I submitted 8/18 and just got a complete email. You’ll probably receive one soon!
