+1 INTL pre-II hold received today (no email). Complete 09/01.
 
For those offered admittance, is signing the admittance packet a commitment to GW? Other schools have separate options for seat reservations and formal acceptances and I do not want to make any commitments to schools yet. The packet does not make it very clear, but reads as a contract you sign to accept their Notice of Acceptance. I am probably overthinking it.

Submitted secondary 10/24, on hold *some time since then* but i didnt check the portal for a few days while sick.

So they dont just reject anyone outright? Or does being on hold mean youre relatively competitive

Yes, they have rejected some applicants both before and after the secondary application.
Being on hold is not a bad omen at this school and means you are still under consideration and yes, relatively competitive

No, it's not a commitment, just an acknowledgement of their acceptance offer/a seat reservation.
 
OOS Waitlist today, II 10/09, LM: 72.5
Anyone know if GW waitlist sees movement, this is my top choice med school. :/
 
OOS hold today, complete 9/1. figured this would happen but doesn't make it sting any less.
 
you guys think there is any point in submitting a secondary now or would it be too late? LM 72

lmaoo yeahh unfortunately I forgot TCU had an A&P requirement so I figured it was a waste of time to submit my app w/o that class. The other 2 were DO schools that I had applied to as backups but now didn't see as places I would go considering my acceptances.
 
stupid question, but what is "alternate for the first year class of the program"? is this just the waitlist, but put in a fancy way? how is the alternate different from the waitlist?

School's have different names for waitlists. Some are "continued candidates", some call them holds, and some are "alternate lists". So yes, I would imagine it's a waitlist (99% sure). As long as you received this decision post-II.

OOS Pre-II Hold...I'm not sure when, but probably sometime in the last week? Few days? Complete 9/16.
