2024-2025 Midwestern University (Chicago, Illinois) CCOM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I sent more than 2 letters too and didn't have any problems. I believe since AACOMAS doesn't let you select letters for each school, they will receive all of the letters and pick 2 that meet the requirement?
Thank you for the insight! If that were the case however, wouldn't there be two LORs that are marked as received on the application portal? For me, it only says that 1 LOR was received.

all of your LORs will be transmitted. the portal is to confirm you meet their minimum requirements. if you submitted 5 rest assured they will receive all 5.

It might be they've only looked at one and will mark 2 once they've confirmed you meet their requirements, not sure.

Any applicants in the past know the lowest MCAT Midwestern (downers grove) has taken? Had a meeting and they said the avg was a 506 but im curious what the lower bound of the avg was

A bit late, but II 8/30! From what I can tell, they’ve just started to send out II and only the first few interview days are filled.

Does anyone know if Midwestern has affiliated clinical partners in Chicago? I know a DO who said they did. I also did my undergrad in the Illinois Medical District, made several connections in the area, did some shadowing/shifts for EMT training there, etc... I feel like this would be a great thing to bring up in my application and also is a big personal appeal to me since I know how exciting the IMD is. I can't find ANY information about this online.

They have rotations with Stroger and the VA for IMD. They also have rotations with hospitals in AdventHealth and Ascension systems throughout Chicago.

Just got the II! Does anyone know if it's an advantage to interview in-person? My II from Iowa explicitly stated that the admissions committee is not told if applicants interviewed virtually or in-person and so it will not make a difference in their applications... obv not sure if this is the case at other schools.

Free food lol
I don't think they would offer virtual interviews if they didn't value them as much but I am sure there are some subconscious biases to think about. I live close by so I did in person because they would probably think it's weird I couldn't be bothered to drive over 😂

mines different as well. odds are, if everyone's changed, then it doesnt mean anything 😛

At my interview they just said sometime in October since they meet every month but they don’t have a set day, they just meet when everyone’s available
