Their FAQ says:Have there been any post-secondary Rs yet? also wondering if we are able to submit post-secondary updates before receiving an interview 🙂
they showed us this table in our interview-- I imagine this only for post II applicants thoughTheir FAQ says:
Q: Do you accept application updates?
A: Applicants invited to complete a secondary may include updated information in the secondary responses. After the interview invitation, applicants may provide updates to our office at [email protected].
When did you submit your application?+ 1 IS II PRIME-US just now, im so happy friends 😭😭
congrats! just now?interview invite mstp and md
Hello! I submitted my secondary on 10/13 :,)When did you submit your application?
earlier todaycongrats! just now?
Congrats! Do you mind sharing which interview dates are available? And are they only Prime interview dates?Hello! I submitted my secondary on 10/13 :,)
Hi! sorry I am just seeing this :,). for PRIME-US the only date available for me was 12/16. I cant make that date so I got rescheduled to another PRIME-US date for 1/21/25. I was only shown that first date 12/16 for MD/PRIME date on the UCSF Portal.Congrats! Do you mind sharing which interview dates are available? And are they only Prime interview dates?
I actually just joined an info session and everyone here has camera on! I'm guessing your friend has already done their info session but figured I'd put this here in case anyone else wants the heads-up 🙂Asking this question regarding UCSF Info session for a friend who is currently out of country.
Do you need to be on camera for info session? what about Q/A? can you just type in your questions? Appreciate your reply.
We’re probably cooked 💀Does UCSF review secondaries on a rolling basis? I submitted back in late July and was just curious as to whether that means I'm outta the game or not.
i've seen people with II's to T5/T10's not get a secondary from UCSF, so I would def fill it outI added this school on 9/25 on a whim (in the sense it was a Hail Mary) after getting my top quartile Casper score.
OOS Secondary invite - 9/30
Complete 10/5
I don’t have a great MCAT score 😭 but the rest of my app is solid.
I know this whole process is crazy/frustrating, but anyone have any insights on what UCSF looks for? I really didn’t expect to get the actual secondary invite and am trying to hang on to hope now.
Yes I definitely already filled it out! 😅i've seen people with II's to T5/T10's not get a secondary from UCSF, so I would def fill it out
this is from someone that got a secondary with a 3.6/509
It seems like ucsf does some of the most rigorous screening of any school pre-secondary, so if they send a secondary to you they are somewhat interested in your application.Yes I definitely already filled it out! 😅
I just wasn’t sure it was a legit possibility or they just took my $$ for the secondary 🙃🤪
I have a 509 3.8 with multiple issues on my app such as W's and gaps in education. However, UCSF it seems wants students who represent varying aspects of life. For me being homeless, losing two fathers due to the lack of healthcare in rural California, and focusing my efforts on communities completely underrepresented and misunderstood by modern medicine is what I believe got me an interview. I think UCSF is unique as stats are not the main priority, they also want people who understand the challenges the daily person endures and how we can implement that into medicine.I added this school on 9/25 on a whim (in the sense it was a Hail Mary) after getting my top quartile Casper score.

I dont know man, I dropped a nicu transport off at UCSF benioff a couple months ago and it was like walking into the future. They literally had drones going up and down the hallways delivering food to patients. The nicu was state of the art tooDropped a patient off at UCSF last week. Was somewhat shocked at how old the facilities looked.
Lol the Benioff in Oakland? Ain't no wayI dont know man, I dropped a nicu transport off at UCSF benioff a couple months ago and it was like walking into the future. They literally had drones going up and down the hallways delivering food to patients. The nicu was state of the art too
Mission bay my dudeLol the Benioff in Oakland? Ain't no way

Cool cool. Usually when I pass the Benioff in Oakland I'm on alert due to the ghetto-ness of the area. Haven't been to the otherMission bay my dude
New buildings are currently in construction at Parnassus (see plans here) and Oakland (see plans here). There was litigation against the Parnassus building that took a while to resolve.dude no joke my friends and I road-tripped through california for thanksgiving break 2 weeks ago and some of our stops were ucsf med school and stanford med.
2 completely different worlds. one is sitting in paradise and has this entire outdoor mall thing area nearby with pho and other really cool restaurants, the other felt like I was in the part of alaska they airdrop food to. half the ucsf campus was under construction, had to drive up a gigantic mountain or smth to get to it, wood cabins outside (idk if these were dorms or what). was a crazy/shocking xp considering they're top 3 or whatever.
full disclosure I got rejected pre-secondary, I promise though the review above has nothing to do with that. i'm sure it's a great school

Either way, why does the look of a building matter to the quality of education, patient care, and research? Med student don't rotate at Oakland but the pathology seen there is great (great for learners, sucks for patients).
i'm sure it's a great school
Just a reminder it doesn’t look good if someone refers to a community like this; we should speak of anyone and any potential patient with respect and dignity. And recall how SDoH impacts the health of communities and the resources our neighbors may or may not have access to.Cool cool. After seeing the update on them canceling her insurance after the vid was uploaded (see link here), I'm inclined to believe her claims. The sole UCSF student in that reddit thread seems to be supporting her comments too.
bruh i deleted my comment how did it show up 😂
can you delete the quote i dont want to be a part of any philosophy/controversial/thinking piece discussions anymore just memes. with the internet lacking anything related to tone or nuance I don't want people misunderstanding my words
you say one thing, jerry, one thing, about a building, and all of a sudden everyone's asking why you think social determinants of health are coexisting on the plane of existence of your mom and dad and dog and public vs private. bruh i don't know it's above my paygrade 😂
