do we know if UCSF makes II decisions based solely on secondaries/LORs (since they technically already screened primaries before sending secondaries)? or would they look at the whole application again?

very holistic but heard they value LOR heavily

Congrats guys!!! What time did you get the emails?

Were any of you who got the OOS II able to select an interview date? I don't see any available even for next year

I was able to, yeah. It may be that some of the slots filled up? Not entirely sure, but can confirm OOS II with interview date scheduled.

I believe they'll add more slots as they get enough students/faculty signed up as being available to interview on those days

I'm wondering... Do you guys think it's worth emailing the office to ask for feedback on why the application was rejected?

As a non-trad working in a different industry, 99% of the times recruiters/interviewers are down to give feedback but I'm wondering if this would be appropriate for med school apps?

Unfortunately, I have yet to hear of a medical school that will give you feedback. UCSF received over 9000 applications last year and admitted 255. It just isn't realistic to give people feedback on their applications, especially if you didn't receive an interview. Many schools even explicitly state they do not give feedback. Wishing you best of luck on the rest of your apps, but in general I would say it isn't realistic to expect feedback for med apps.

I hope this isn't a stupid question but how bad would it be to put similar content from my PRIME essays into the "If you wish to update or expand upon your activities, you may provide additional information below" question? In one of my PRIME essays, I expand on an important activity and connect it to what I'm doing currently doing. I know that PRIME isn't considered into the regular MD so I'm unsure how bad it would be to have this overlap

I think having this overlap would be fine since the secondary sections for those two programs are considered separately. Since it’s an important activity, it would probably be a good idea to describe it in both and potentially have a bit of distinction as to why it’s relevant to both the PRIME and the regular MD as well (i.e. tailor your response a little bit to each program).

Thank you for this answer! I''m having a bit of trouble thinking of how to frame them differently but have the same content. Since this secondary came so late, it's been so long since I was in writing mode

For anyone that interviewed last week, what was the interview day schedule like? I am a little unsure if it is a whole day thing with programming in addition to the interviews or if it is just the interviews. Thank you!

Whole day thing with programming! Plan to be there from 9pt to 5pt, but there will be plenty of break time. Your exact schedule will vary and be sent to you morning of.

Same as the other poster: you'll get a reminder email in the preceding days and a specific schedule sent out the morning of (2-3 hours beforehand, IIRC). There's a short info session, your interviews, and then a student panel at the end. All in all about 4-5 hours or so

Is primes admission team different from the regular admission team? Like can you be admitted for prime before admission to regular md? And if so are you considered for both of they don't want you for prime? And if so is there a class profile for admitted prime applicants with gpa, etc?

When did people get their interview schedule? My interview is tomorrow and I haven’t heard anything

Does the response rate get better later in the cycle? I got my secondary just last week and recently submitted. Will I likely have to wait two months to hear any news like the July submitters?

any mstp applicants have a red exclamation mark next to faculty selection in their submitted secondary. the secondary told us to select 6 faculty members but now it says 10. does this mean my secondary is incomplete?

Mine says the same but it still says app complete on the status page

Yes, I have this as well. As long as you selected 6 faculty members and your app says it’s complete, I think it should be fine.

To those interviewing for JMP: Are you also unable to designate JMP on AMCAS following the instructions they sent? "Joint Medical Program UC B/SF" is greyed out for me in the list of schools on AMCAS.

I have the red exclamation point as well, I originally designated 10 faculty but 6 have been removed and now my list only has 4 names—maybe a good sign?? Anyone else see that their list has been pared down?

Yes, I now see that my list has also been pared down (from 6 to 4 names). Maybe it’s a good sign, but I’m not really sure.

Mine pared down from 6 to 3 names. Anyone didn't see red exclamation? If everybody has a red exclamation, it means nothing
