continued consideration as well...does anyone have any impression what % of people get outright accepted, rejected, or put on continuing review? or what percent of people get taken out of this pool? trying to figure out how to frame this to my parents lol
I'd also love to know!

+1 CC. I’m not worrying. My understanding is that a lot of ppl get accepted from this pool and a lot of people wind up on the waitlist. Based on last years thread they seem to have really good waitlist turnover.

IS, complete 7/25 and haven’t heard anything since. Is that most likely a pre-II R at this point?

Nice, looks like it went to 47 last year. Do you know if a good chunk of people actually get accepted from this pool throughout the cycle, or is it more like one big surprise at the end of January?

Same boat. Looking at previous years’ threads it looks like this is mostly likely the case. Can never know for sure until we get the R tho.

hey y'all im trying to schedule for my interview.... they are giving two options Spokane and Spokane female. What does Spokane Female mean?

Completed 8/5 and same position. No update. Was hoping application good enough at least for an interview invite.

I was complete 7/29 and haven't heard anything, IS-seattle. I guess i'm confused because I thought after your app gets screened its either yes or no for the interview. So the question is, are they still screening or they have already decided "no" but haven't let us know? I don't really know what to think tbh. the one thing I haven't noticed is that not many people are reporting Pre-interview R for in state seattle. so maybe they send those notifications all out at once?
I'm a reapplicant and last year I was in a similar position just waiting for ANY update. I was complete mid-late August at UW, and they sent out an email in late November that said this:

"We wanted to update you and let you know that your completed application is still under review. We will email you when a decision has been made. We know some of you have been waiting longer than the estimated 3 months to hear back, and we appreciate your patience! Our reviewers are all volunteers and the screening process has taken longer than anticipated. Please know that waiting longer to hear back does not negatively affect your application -- we always save spots to interview all the applicants we want to meet, and do not fill the class until all the interviews have been completed."

I think they will send out an email telling you they're still reviewing your app. UW has been pretty good with updates, so I'm certain you are still in the running if they have not rejected you yet. Some reviewers just move at different paces because of work and things outside of medicine.

as for screening, there might be the possibility that the screeners conflicted, so they might be doing a tiebreaker with a third EXCOM to determine if you get an interview invitation. I think that could delay the process a bit.

has anyone receive IIs from Spokane :( submitted Sept 23rd so maybe I shouldn't worry that much?

Has anyone still not heard back? I submitted mid august and still radio silence... I called the admissions office to see where my application was at and I was told one reviewer has yet to look at it. It seems unfair if a reviewer is taking a long time to review because wouldn't interview spots fill up rather quickly?...

Hey! I totally get that it's frustrating, but it's just a part of the process that nobody likes, and it is unfair that you might not get an interview as soon as others because of a reviewer taking additional time. I have several friends who submitted about the same time as you and still haven't heard back. Just wanted to let you know that you can rest assured that it is not a detriment that they take a longer time to review, and that they WILL review your application.

The interview spots are pretty limited for those who receive interviews, so they won't be able to fill up all the future slots. If they get an invitation on December 1st, they might only be able to choose December 9, 12, 15 for example. Don't worry, they save interview spots like this throughout the entire cycle so people who submit even on the final submission date can get interviews. Everyone has an equal chance of getting in regardless of interview date since they intentionally hold seats until the last interview is completed, then they start to fill those seats near the end of January/early February.

Does anyone know if applicants who are in the SUC pool actually get accepted at subsequent committee meetings, or is it mostly for thinning/maintaining them in the pool until the end of interviews?

They can! It hasn't been reported very often on SDN in past years though. You can get on the SUC list if your EXCOM member wasn't able to attend a meeting too.

Everyone I know that has gotten accepted was on the SUC list at one point in time, at least a couple weeks. Hopefully same happens to us!

Wow. I'm tempted to call and ask as well. But will hold off until the end of November.

I wonder if applicants get an email if they are not selected for an interview. Or is it just silence until the end of the cycle? I would just really like to know if people have already reviewed my secondaries, LOR, and primary and decided not to offer an interview.

I applied here last year actually. Yes, they will 100% communicate if you are not selected for an interview. My application took until mid-november to get reviewed, and I got a pre interview rejection around that time as well. UW is great about communicating these kinds of things, although the review process can take a while. They don't tell you if your app is under review currently, but if it has been 3 months since you submitted and you haven't received correspondence, they will send you an e-mail. I can promise that they won't silent reject you

do you have any other As? looks like they can provide feedback if you don't. there's some eligibility criteria in the email.

this process is a crapshoot, though, and there are SO MANY applicants that there is a lot of luck involved. you didn't necessarily do anything wrong. this R bummed me out too, but it's still a huge accomplishment to even reach this point. and things will work out in the end!

Joined IS Pre-II R yesterday. ORM(Asian),UW undergrad, high stat, medium ECs(including hours working with underserved), good research hours from reputed place but nothing good enough at least for an interview.

Hey everyone!! For those lucky few who were accepted - do they call first and then send the email? Or did you receive the acceptance email first and then a phone call? Trying to prepare my heart for if I see an email without a call in the coming weeks haha!!

same! also complete mid-august. Does this mean we are on hold? or just that they are behind in reviewing?
They are behind is my guess. Everywhere seems really chaotic and disorganized and I think UW is not an exception I think.

OOR II, complete 9/10

I wonder if the excom meeting was today or yesterday? Also kinda nervous for later this week, hoping that I'll at least stay on the SUC list
