Hey y'all, feel like I gotta drop in again to wish everyone good luck with pre-matches, at UTSW and elsewhere!

Also, as a word of encouragement - I didn't pre-match at UTSW on October 15th last year... or at all.... and I also didn't match in February

I don't want to give anyone false hope, so take this with a grain of salt, but I ended up coming off the waitlist like 2 days before the deadline (since I had another acceptance that was ~May 15th for me), so even if you don't pre-match... or match even... you can still get in.

So far I've honestly excelled and enjoyed my time in med school. I know a couple other 'wait-listers' and they're also crushing it as well. So if you do get an offer off the waitlist, or just later down the line, I'd highly encourage you to take it!

Also, just wondering, since you mentioned waitlisters and such, what is your general approximation/feel as to how many of your classmates prematched vs. matched vs. waitlisted? does it feel like 60 30 10 or something

Absolutely no clue. I know several people who prematched (including on full-rides), matched, and several off the waitlist, so it's not 0% for any category.

And, as far as I know, we're all doing about the same in our courses. We all excell/struggle with different things, but overall everyone is doing well. Which I bring up as a point in reference to imposter syndrome etc. I know most people wouldn't turn down an offer at UTSW because they don't think they belong here, but it's a thought I've had a couple of times since getting accepted, so just want to nip that in the bud for anyone who might be thinking the same thing.

if memory serves correct, people in august still prematch in january (could swear i know people that this happened to, some with full tuition!)! it ain’t over till it over
