Does the "under consideration for a phone interview" email mean I passed some sort of initial screening, or is it just a status update that they're reviewing my application?

Pretty good, looks like they periodically review and accept students often off WL.

I think they’d give out more than 86 acceptances though? Geisel has a similar class size and they offered around 270 based off admit.org. So I’m thinking somewhere around 200 or so acceptances given out?
 
Also states this on the email “If you have an update to your application or letter of interest, you may upload those in your applicant portal!” Wondering if I should submit a letter of continued interest in the school.
 
Since they asked for a letter of interest, do y'all think it's advisable to send one even if I have 0 updates?? I dont want to waste their time but i also want to remind them that i exist lol 🤓

Yes! I talked to someone on the WMed admissions committee and they said that we can send letters of interest/update letters even if we haven't done anything significant like a MCAT retake mid cycle or a research publication. Just needs to show that we are still interested!

"I hope this email finds you well! Our goal throughout this admissions cycle is to be as transparent as possible, to keep you up-to-date of your status, where we are in the admissions process, and to do those things monthly. With that being said, your application is currently under review for a phone interview. We have conducted roughly 65% of our phone interviews thus far. We will continue to invite applicants (roughly 800) for a phone interview on a rolling basis until the end of January. The committee's plan is to send invitations for a phone interview every other week beginning next week. Your application has been and will be reviewed at each admissions committee meeting throughout the entire cycle. I understand waiting and the unknown can be filled with frustration and anxiety, but we truly appreciate your patience during our process. If you have an update to your application or letter of interest, you may upload those in your applicant portal!"

Thank you for the suggestion. I still couldn't find it though, and there wasn't any record of it in the portal. Maybe because I already received an II?

Does anyone know how many people are in the group activity? And are we told who our faculty interviewer is prior to interview day?
 
Interview 10/18. OOS A 10/30. Phone Interview end of September.

There were 6-8 people in the group activity. I did not know who my faculty interviewer was until I met them. Great experience

Still waiting. It could be one week, it could be 12 weeks, it could be never. They sent phone II last week so this week they should be completely off (per their last email update, they said they anticipate sending them every other week).
 
Does anyone have any idea what to select? I wrote an update/interest letter, and there are two options: "Letter of Interest" and "Applicate Update". I am pre-II. Leaning more toward the Application Update option, but I'm unsure.

probably update. i always felt like letter of interest if for after the interview but someone correct me if im wrong (im also submitting a pre-ii update tomorrow)
