Also have the tab and I am not even eligible for financial aid lol (INTL). Maybe everyone has the tab.

Edit: seems like this happened in previous years and does not mean much.

Meaning don't freak out if you see it and think it guarantees an acceptance. People in the 2021-2022 thread got it and some were deferred, waitlisted, or accepted

Of course! Which medical school would make such a blunder?? The committee doesn't even meet until December
 
What is the code for the Overview Session with Dr. Kristen Hanssen? I have work during all of the sessions, is it fine if my camera is off or does it have to be on?
 
Do any MSTP applicants know if you are automatically considered for the MD-only program if they decide to not admit you MD/PhD post-II?
 
Anyone know if BU gives out scholarships that aren't need-based?
 
Haven't heard anything back from BU yet-- no II/no R. I am mid-stats, so surprised I made it so far. Anyone else in the same boat? Is no news good news rn?

im in the same boat. i think its good news bc they seem ruthless with rejections. to be fair my whole app is like tailored to their mission
 
PSA: based on past years, first-round decisions will likely happen Dec 12, or any day between Dec 10 and 15.

are all interviewees prior to that date included in that decision? and do you know, do they make the decision to accept, rejecter waitlist then? Or is there a fourth option with some sort of internal hold?

Yes, but if you read closely the email they sent in October, they said: "The first round of admission decisions will be released in late December with the second round coming in early March. Applicants interviewed between September and late November can expect to hear from us in December, while those interviewed from early December through February should anticipate notifications in March." So it seems it may be later December this year on account of the many applicants or something... unless this is just either a typo or just conservative measures.

Can't remember if this has been asked before, but can anyone say given the mid to late December decision date, when would be a good time to send a Letter of Intent? What's the latest probably?
 
Seems like there has been a lag in II the past few weeks. Anyone know when they restart for the new year or whether Boston continues to have lots of interviews Dec-Feb?

my interview is soon and i'm freaking out. i feel like i don't remember anything about myself or my app and i also just haven't been doing anything other than working a lot (yay being low income! lmao) so i don't have much to talk about ugh.. really hoping i don't royally mess this up like my last one.

I felt that low income part twin 😔 but I want to remind you that Boston sent you an interview because they saw something in your application that resonated with them. I'm sure you've already done this but look for opportunities at Boston that speak to you and your application and go from there. From my experience, I had a lot of time to ask questions and my interview was fairly short so come prepared with lots of questions. I'm cheering for your premedbarista!
 
sorry if this was already asked but do they want us to send thank you notes to our interviewers? they gave me her email but idk the etiquette of these things and it seems like some schools don’t want you to

are letters of intent for BU frowned upon? i know they accept interest + update letters but dont indicate specifically LOIs on MSAR, wanted to know if it would be bad to send one before dec. decision day

No, there is an option to submit them on the portal. I am going to call later to see when is the latest we should any update including letter of intent. But as far as other years go, I think this or next week is the week the committee meets to decide on applicants for the first part of the season. Scary!

I was told that unless you have a significant update, at this point it's sit and wait. Letter of intent if waitlisted or deferred etc. The committee is meeting very very soon.

I was a late applicant to BU (in October) due to some health issues, and thankfully the admissions team has been really receptive of my situation and the delay. I haven't heard anything since submitting (II or R), but my secondary portal is glitching like crazy for the past 2 days. My applicant status keeps disappearing and appearing, and I'm able to see the additional tabs and information (like the details and events) for the interview, but havent received an invite or anything. Did this happen to anything else or did it mean anything? I know it might just be high traffic to the site or website maintainence, but I wanted to ask :/

yes, my portal has been glitchy too and i completed my interview in october
 
Has anyone received an interview lately? I understand BU sent a few wave of rejections already, and have another cycle of interviews Dec - Jan. Wondering when these will begin going out

It’s probably too late. Would’ve been good in early/mid November (not that it really pushes the needle at this point)

On the other hand, this has happened other years - where they say late December, early January, but in reality it's a buffer statement and the decisions came out a week or two before that.
