+1 OOS II, submitted 8/4
Nice! When were you complete?+1 OOS II, submitted 8/4
Lol jk +1 II just now, submitted 8/4 and complete 8/8Nice! When were you complete?
from what I understand you can get a decision in december but most people get deferred to march decisionfor those who interviewed in October: would we know our final decision by December? or is there a possibility we’d wait until March?
Don’t they do two big meetings to release decisions per cycle? One in December and one in March? I guess you’re saying that even if you interview before December you might not hear back? I would’ve hoped that they just let everyone know who interviewed before their big meetingfrom what I understand you can get a decision in december but most people get deferred to march decision
This was the understanding that one of their donors and md admissions people gave me. Not sure about the deferral but I wouldn’t be surprisedfrom what I understand you can get a decision in december but most people get deferred to march decision
based on previous years, they give some As in december but most go out in March. by deferred i just mean some of the people who hear back in december aren’t given a decision but are told they will find out in march.Don’t they do two big meetings to release decisions per cycle? its possible your interviewer thought it was only supposed to be 30 minutes... that happened to me and i gently reminded her that we had a 1 hour blockgotcha, mines ended exactly at 30 min so i was kinda concerned
Damn you got some balls. I would’ve just agreed with what they said lolits possible your interviewer thought it was only supposed to be 30 minutes... that happened to me and i gently reminded her that we had a 1 hour block

did you figure it outcan anyone tell me what the dean info session is like? are they taking notes about us/asking us questions, like is it part of the eval or just an info session? should i be wearing full suit like for the interview? thanks 🙂
I went. Wear a suit or at least a button down shirt with a jacket (for men). Dean Kristen Hanssen MD hosted the session. I am not sure if she hosts all of them. For her, it was part presentation, part interactive. Dean Hanssen is very energetic, very knowledgeable, and very nice. You will enjoy the session.did you figure it out
I interviewed very early on and had my info session earlier on as well but I'll give my two cents anyway. Dr. Hanssen specifically said in our meeting that you can wear whatever you want. We had about 80 people in the meeting and the vast majority wore suits so she made a point early on to say that it is totally fine if you wear sweats and a hoodie as she is the only one in the meeting from the school and is not taking notes. She also mentioned that she wanted us to feel comfortable physically and emotionally so that we can ask any form of questions. As for the rule of the thumb that was mentioned previously, I disagree. Pay attention for your own sake and decision making. The dean is most definitely not talking, presenting, and answering questions while zooming in on people and writing notes on their behavior. She also mentioned that she is the only person from the medical school in that meeting and it is set up that way so we could feel comfortable asking her about anything - and we sure as hell asked alot. Obviously, please write notes to make your life easier but no i highly doubt they are srsly including a performance reading or notes on our behavior during an informational session of all things to make a decision on our acceptance.did you figure it out
I think the committee meeting is scheduled for sometime in November for the December decision cohort. If you have already interviewed, now is a good time to send an update or interest letter. BU is pretty receptive to these letters... I think.Does anyone know if we can send updates/ letters of interest or know when we go to committee post interview?

im wondering the same! For those of us who have interviewed this fall, I was wondering when would be the latest to send a letter of intent to attend before the December decision? And whether it is even worth it, or to be reserved only if waitlisted...
There is a YouTube video of Dean Hanssen expressing her "reservations" about sending early letters of intent. The reason being: how do you know BU is the absolute BEST fit, assuming you haven't heard back from all the schools yet? How should we interpret this information? No idea... Is November considered too early for letters of intent? No idea... but probably.im wondering the same!
None. Because the interview is super standard/traditional. As long as you prepped as you would for any standard med school interview, you will be fine. No curveballs etc.Does anyone have last minute advice for the interview?
Woah... I'm curious what others will say. My interview was altogether almost an hour. Don't know if one is better than the other. Either you are an exceptional candidate and the interview is just a formality, or it went so wildly terrible that they had to end it early. These are just random guesseshad my interview yesterday and it was only 15 mins!!!!! + time for me to ask questions.
i'm scared what does this mean lol
wait I have a friend that goes there and last year she had the same thing!! dont stress too much about timing because people are just busy. you got this and im sure you did amazing 🙂had my interview yesterday and it was only 15 mins!!!!! + time for me to ask questions.
i'm scared what does this mean lol
I wouldnt worry about it. Mines was only 30 minutes and someone else said the same thing happened and the interviewer genuinely just forgot that the interview was supposed to be 45 minuteshad my interview yesterday and it was only 15 mins!!!!! + time for me to ask questions.

I did see that others said theirs lasted about 30 minutes, but 15 minutes is soo short, it just felt a bit concerning. hopefully it is nothing to worry about, like you said!I wouldnt worry about it. Mines was only 30 minutes and someone else said the same thing happened and the interviewer genuinely just forgot that the interview was supposed to be 45 minutes
About an hour eachHow long do the Student Sessions & Dean Sessions usually last?
+1 IS R 😔 I was getting my hopes up from surviving R waves
I also interviewed around two months ago and I have a financial aid tab too. I'm not sure if all interviewees have this either. I can't remember if it was there prior to my interviewApologies if this was asked already, but is the "Financial Aid" tab visible for everyone? I interviewed 2-ish months ago and this tab wasn't there before, and decisions haven't come out yet (and from what I've gathered, BU only wants the CSS profile from "entering students only") so I wanted to check if all applicants or all interviewees have the tab.
