I am currently selecting courses for my DIY postbacc this upcoming school year and would like to know whether taking a few 2nd year courses (just 1 or 2) - barring necessary prerequisites - is permitted. The courses in question are anatomy & physiology and medical microbiology.

Why would taking extra classes be bad? A&P is a decent class to take. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for responding .

It is widely known that when pursuing a DIY postbacc to enhance your grades, it is highly encouraged to enrol in upper level (3rd and 4th year) BCPM courses. Some schools even make it known on MSAR that they'll only consider upper level science courses (notwithstanding prerequisites of course).

A&P is a surely an interesting class but I don't want to potentially waste my money.

I can't imagine being dinged for A&P or micro. They're also often a pre req for stuff like pathophysiology, bacteriology etc.

Those kinds of courses are largely considered upper division. I would not be surprised if there are many 3rd and 4th years in the class even if it is something that sophomores also take at this particular school.
