what did you guys do 2nd year of your undergraduate years? in terms of classes taken, extra curricular activities, work, research, studying for MCAT, etc?

I always feel like I'm behind the normal "trend" of pre-meds (e.g., friends started to volunteer freshman year, some have 3.7 gpa freshman year, some involved in leadership position in clubs, etc none of which I've accomplished yet; although I've done some activities different from those mentioned above)
so I wanted to get a grasp on how all you successful pre-meds did 2nd year of your undergraduate years.

3rd year + 4th year or post-bac year stories will be great too!

I took 11 hours in the fall and studied abroad in London in the spring. Granted, I'm taking a gap year to do my apps, but I'd highly recommend it.

second year, first semester

gen chem 2
behavioral neurosciece
microeconomics
cell physiology
calculus 3
concert band

22 credit hours, 4.0 GPA

volunteered in ER 4hr/wk
volunteered in mental health center 4hr/wk
worked in neuroscience lab 12hr/wk
didn't study for the MCAT at all. I just studied gen chem 2 stuff which is on the MCAT anyway.
