3.0 and Under c/o 2010 Acceptance Thread

Hey,

I thought it'd be nice if those 2006 acceptees who had a GPA of 3.0 or less would list:

- what school they'll be attending in the fall
- their stats and extra-curriculars
- what extra measures if any helped get them where they are today (acceptanced letter in hand!!!!)

This'll certainly give other applicants a ray of hope!

- NYU COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY this fall 2006

gpa: 3.0
sci: 2.9 (showed improvement, i had one bad year)
dat aa/ts/pat: 22/23/16
maybe 2 clubs (regular member), worked at dental practice for 1 year, had various jobs throughout college, took part in 3 research projects (no publications though)

- APPLY EARLY!!!! thats the best I can say. And study a lot before taking the DAT.

i bet there are more accepted sub 3.0...
but it sure is competitive out there now!
i think 3.5 is the new 3.0

I was also accepted (to NYU and Creighton) with 3.0 overall and 2.97 sci. I suspect that many of us aren't posting here because there are two other threads for this already. Go to the "under 3.0 club" thread and you can read the complete history of several people's struggles to be accepted with a sub-3.0.

NYU fall 2006 too!!!

undergrad gpa: 2.96 (lacked focus and direction until my last year of college)
AADSAS gpa: 2.89
AADSAS sci: 2.77
DAT 23AA/23TS/22Pat

I was in a hip hop dance group (does that count as being well rounded? haha)
Intern + volunteer hrs = over 400 hrs
No research projects

oh, and applied mid september.
