  1. GPA: my undergrad grades alone: cgpa=3.48 sgpa=3.03. During undergrad I didnt do well in the introductory sci courses but there is an upward trend. During my post-bacc I took a total of 27 science credits and got all As so if I added this to my undergrad gpa it increases to cgpa=3.56 and sgpa=3.32 (I'm not sure if that's how medical schools will look at my post bacc grades though).
  2. MCAT: 514 (128/129/128/129)
  3. Residence: CA
  4. Ethnicity and/or race: Asian
  5. Undergraduate institution or category: WashU
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): 150-200 hours shadowing my PI(pediatric neurology) and I also consent patients for the studies I work on but I have no idea what the hours for that might be(if it can be counted as clinical experience). I have a medical scribe position lined up for the summer so I will also gain clinical experience once I start that.
  7. Research experience and productivity: Clinical research assistant in pediatric neurology for three years(not sure about the hours but its maybe around 1250 hours?). I am coauthor on 4 published abstracts and 1 submitted abstract. I'm currently working on a manuscript which will hopefully be submitted this summer.
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented:
    1. 150-200 hours in pediatric neurology
    2. 20 hours obgyn
    3. 20 hours pediatrics
    4. 25 hours ER
  9. Non-clinical volunteering: 100 hours as a clinic escort at planned parenthood
  10. Other extracurricular activities
    1. I mentored an adopted girl from China for three years until she moved away(~200 hours). Though I'm not officially her mentor anymore, I still keep in touch and still try to give her advice and encouragement when I can. Within the same club that organized the mentoring, I was also a part of the fundraising committee and during my second year I became the chair of the committee(~200 hours). As cochair, I led the committee in raising $1500 to help fund a surgery for an orphan with a congenital heart disease in a Beijing orphanage. I also attended the club service trip where we visit the orphanage for two weeks and help take care of the babies and children who are either waiting for their surgery date or recuperating from their surgery (70 hr).
    2. Every semester I was also in 1-3 dance performances(each performance has 4 hrs of practice a week and in total I've probably spent ~400 hours on dance). During my senior year and gap year I also coordinated/choreographed performances.
    3. I am in the professional chemistry fraternity(2 years) and I was apparel chair for a year.
    4. I was also the associate director of new directions for my school's doctors without borders club during my senior year(1 year).
  11. Relevant honors or awards
    1. dean's list during spring junior year and fall senior year
    2. Lambda Alpha (anthropology honorary society)
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important
    1. not sure how important this is but I studied abroad in Shanghai as a part of a premed global scholars program

I know I have some reaches on my list, if you think the reaches are too far of a reach please let me know. I'm also planning on applying to two DO schools in California. Should I consider applying to more DO schools or am I competitive for some of these MD schools?

You can remove Rush since they are looking for applicants with very high clinical and non clinical volunteering hours. Oregon, Cooper and the Arizona schools accept few non residents with your GPA and no connection to the state. Emory,UCLA, UCSF are all reaches. I suggest adding these schools:
Vermont
Seton Hall
Drexel
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
TCU-UNT (new school)
Kaiser
California University
Loma Linda
