Hi everyone!

Hope people are doing well. With my stats, I'm applying mainly DO but I'm getting encouragement to apply MD. I feel like my stats are too low to even try- what are my chances if I decide to apply MD?

Stats:
MCAT- 508
cGPA: 3.6
sGPA: 3.5
-over 100+ hours of volunteering
-over 100+ hours of shadowing
-worked in a medical clinic as for 1 year
- 2 summer internships doing solid research.
- NY Resident

Thanks!

Personally I think MD may be out of reach, but I think you should be competitive for DO.

You have a chance at schools such as SUNY Upstate and Buffalo but concentrate on your DO application and apply to at least 10 schools.

Yeah, MD will be tough if you don't go the carribean route. DO should be better anyways. Look at MSAR and see if any MD schools accept 502> for the bottom 25th percentile. Im sure you'll find some so just shoot them apps bc why not.

i think you should def apply to suny md's since there is a state preference, but you surely make a strong DO applicant. Id apply if you have the means too- it never hurts to apply.
