I have a 3.7 gpa and 30R (11ps/8vs/11bs). Based on this information alone ( and assuming all other factor are average) do I have a chance at any california allopathic schools? Should I just take another year off and retake the mcat?
Thanks

California schools seem to like applicants with some sort of wow-factor. That could be an MCAT of 36, years of research with publication, incredible leadership experience, or outstanding committment to helping the poor. Even if you do improve something, or everything, getting into a California school is difficult, so applying widely is strongly recommended. To answer your question: I'd say your chances, as you stand, are low.

Apply to SLU, and MCW (early). I think you have a good shot at those schools. 30 seems to be the magic number for SLU along with a strong GPA.
