Hey everyone!

I'll be applying this upcoming cycle and would appreciate some feedback to help get my my school list started + anything else that you may think is pertinent from the information below.

State: WA
School: University of Washington
cGPA: 3.73 (upward trend)
sGPA: 3.64
MCAT: 517
Major: Biology
Demographic: Caucasian Male
Letters of Rec: 6. Confident in 5/6. Includes 2 science professors, 2 advisors from ECs, 1 volunteer coordinator, 1 PI

ECs:
Research:
~1250 hours in a Pharmacology lab. No major publications, but did present individual data at a research symposium approx. 1 yr. ago.

Clinical Experience:
~800-900 hours working full time as periop tech. Involved extensive patient interaction, one-on-one work with physicians and nurses, and plenty of exposure to OR time (could watch surgeries in my spare time).
~450 hours volunteering at UW Medical Center as a patient transport volunteer. Worked as a Team Leader for volunteer groups and eventually as Team Leader Captain which essentially heads up all volunteer projects and reports directly to volunteer coordinator. Plenty of meaningful patient interaction throughout

Non-Clinical Volunteering:
~75 hours spent as a donation collector for Food Lifeline as part of my fraternity community service project across 3 years Later oversaw the planning of this annual event while serving as president of the fraternity. Over 60,000 meals collected for Western Washington families across 3 years.

Leadership:
-Spent a year as president of my 65 person fraternity. Managed education, community and campus outreach, as well as recruitment throughout. Strong development of leadership and communication skills.
-3.5 years as vice president of on-campus ministry group that organized Bible studies in fraternities and sororities and led monthly brunches. Acted as Bible study leader within my own fraternity for 2 years.
-1 quarter spent as Peer Facilitator (essentially same thing as a TA just w/o pay) for introductory physiology course. Led weekly review sessions and held pre-med advising sessions on the side.

Shadowing:
-30 hours spent shadowing orthopedic spinal surgeon
-12 hours spent shadowing cardiovascular surgeon
-Had intended to get shadowing time in primary care, but was sidelined due to corona
-Plenty of time spent with physicians through paid employment/volunteer work

Hobbies: Photography, Hiking, Exercise

School List: UW is my ideal landing spot, but given their tendency to look for a very particular type of applicant I want to keep my options open. List is currently pretty California heavy which could be a problem. Would love suggestions for places that you think would fit my stats and experiences.

University of Washington (Sister is current MS2)
UCSD
UCLA
Washington State
OHSU
Loma Linda
UC Irvine
UC Davis
UC Riverside
USC
Colorado
UA Phoenix

UC Irvine, UC Davis (3 ), UC Riverside (zero) accept very few non residents with no connection to the state or region. Washington State and U Washington are where your best chances are. You could also try these schools:
Colorado
Loma Linda
Kaiser
California University
Tulane
Miami
USF Morsani
Duke
Hofstra
Einstein
Mount Sinai
Rochester
Pittsburgh
Case Western
Cincinnati
Boston University
St. Louis

So if you're at UW already, you should be able to find a connection with current UW medical students or residents to get insight about the school, the curriculum, and any changes coming down the pipeline that you should be aware of. Of course, I'm also sure everyone's been working on COVID-19-related clinics so it might be hard to just chat with people. Find out how you can be helpful if you are around Seattle right now. (Your sister is an M2? Well, I'm guessing she's aware of your pending application and can also try to connect you with people.)
