Hello Everyone! I am about to submit some applications and could use some advice. I took my MCAT and scored lower than my practice exams. I scored a 503 with a breakdown of 125 for CP, 124 for CARS, 126 BB and 128 PS. My overall GPA is a 3.16 and BCPM GPA of 3.22. While my GPA is lower I do have a strong upward trend. Did a Physical Therapy Assistant associates degree at around a 3.5 and did a Hospital Administration Bachelor's with a 4.0. Basically my last 90 hours of school were done at a 3.8 GPA. I did a formal post-bacc program to complete the med school pre-reqs with a 3.75 GPA.
Here are some of my activities:
Clinical Experience is about 2600 hours
Scribe 2000 hours in orthopedic surgery (continuing)
Physical Therapy Assistant internships 600 hours
Non-clinical Healthcare Employment
Patient Service Representative 700 hours
*Non-clinical surgical internship* 240 hours
Volunteer
150 hours at a hospital gift shop
30 hours setting up a blood drive
50 hours at soup kitchen (continuing)
Non-healthcare Employment
Worked thousands of hours in fast-food, landscaping, etc.
I do have two strong letters of Recommendations for the surgeons I work with and a committee letter from post-bacc program.
I am a PA resident.
I am in my second gap year and do not wish to take a third gap year at this time to raise my MCAT score. I am focusing on applying to DO schools but wish to apply to MD schools as well. I am not sure if every MD school is too far out of reach at this point. Here is my list of MD schools based on MSAR stats:
All PA schools except UPenn and Pitt

North Dakota
Michigan State
