Holy crap I think I listed like every single top 20 school. help plz.
California ideal (UCI/UCD/USC match?). Any extra schools I should add, or schools I drop? Targeting around 30ish schools, and definitely need help with more match/safety OOS schools.

Do you want to be in a city? I mean your stats seem competitive so you can definitely go for top 20...maybe narrow down the reach schools to 10 to 13 schools and make the rest normal and safeties. I'd really advise against applying to 30 schools. it would take forever to write quality essays. I'd shoot for 20. All the California are competitive but you should definitely apply to all of them.

Tell us what you want to do and what programs your interested. Make my job easier.

Suburban/Urban areas are ideal, would prefer not to go to more rural areas (so leaning against Dmouth and other schools that are similar). Just interested in MD. Looking for a school that can foster collaboration and a genuine learning environment. I understand that some level of competition might be inevitable, but I would be hesitant to apply to some of the elite tier schools that seem to be super cutthroat (washU/JHU from what I've heard). Looking to specialize in cardio, but open to many other specialities as it's too early to tell.

Say I were to apply to 25 schools, how would I divide the # schools up by reach/match/safety? Thanks for all your input.

Einstein
Baylor
Boston U
Case Western
Columbia
Dartmouth
Georgetown
Harvard
Icahn med at Mt. Sinai
USC
Loma Linda - Did you read the fine print?
NY medical college
NYU
Northwestern
Penn State Are you traditional? I found out after sending a primary that I don't have enough letters because they request an extra one if you have been out of school for a few years.
UPenn
Stony Brook Might as well add Downstate too, they are equally friendly to CA
Tufts
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UCLA
UCR Only if you have ties to the region
UCSD
UCSF
Stanford
U Maryland In-state ties? Otherwise no.
U Mich
Pitt
Rochester in NY
UTexas at Houston Texas schools take very few OOS. I wouldn't bother, especially as you'll have to file their app separately.
UT Southwestern " "
UVA
Wisconsin Not that friendly to OOS, especially if you aren't from a neighboring state
Vandy
Virginia Commonwealth Their 90th percentile MCAT is a 34
Cornell
Yale

I would add OSU, Miami, Iowa, Emory. I had a similar profile this cycle, feel free to PM me if you want any details!

trying to get it to 30, cost not a factor, but time is. Would like any insights on biases (already did some research on OOS bias, CA resident w/ NY ties) that are not easily discernable on MSAR. I would also like enough low match/safeties that might actually offer interviews and not reject based on too high stats. Thanks!

Some of your OOS safeties are unlikely to give you an interview (VCU, UCF).
Though your stats are good enough for any school, many schools screen candidates blinded to the stats or they compare applicants with similar stats to each other to decide on interviews
You will be compared to other applicants based on your activities and thoughtfulness.
