Hello everyone, I was hoping for some help making a school list for the upcoming cycle (1st time applying).

Me:
-Asian
-First-generation
-IL resident
-Large public undergrad
-Psych major, junior (graduating 1 year early)

Stats:
cGPA: 3.9+
AMCAS cGPA: 3.9+
AMCAS sGPA: 3.9+
MCAT: 518

Research:
-summer research full time (1 publication, 5th author, 450-500 hrs)
-psych research 1.5 years (200 hrs, nothing)

Extra-Curriculars:
-Leadership position for service abroad premed club (3 years)
-Boxing club (1 Semester)
-School emergency response organization (3 years, lab teaching position)
-Habitat for humanity (Small leadership position for school event)

Paid Hours:
-Full time EMT during summer and part time through out the year (~450 hours)
-Will work as Medical assistant parts time (projected 150 hours)

Clinical Volunteering:
-EMS Volunteering for school events and lab assistant for EMT courses (200 hours)

Non-clinical Volunteering:
-Habitat, homeless shelter(~150 hours)

Shadowing:
~Plan to do online shadowing, having difficulty finding opportunities
-Have projected shadowing in the next few weeks (80 hours)

Your application overall is great. You should post your initial school list first and then we can help you - we can’t create the list for you. Start with all of your in state schools.

Forget SIU if you are from the Chicago metropolitan statistical region.

You can, but they give preference to their own residents and those with connections to the state.
