I am a NM resident

Undergraduate Chemical Engineering Senior

cGPA: 3.91
sGPA: 3.94

MCAT:
PS: 14
BS: 11
VR: 11
Writing: R

Research:
2 years biomedical research (multiple presentations)

Clinical Experiences:
EMT-Basic Licensed (no work as EMT)
1.5 years working with patients suffering from alcohol abuse
100+ hours volunteering in ER
3 months shadowing general surgeon

Volunteer:
Counselor at Camp for Children w/ Autism
President of AMSA-PM
President of American Institute of Chem. Engrs
President of Tau Beta Pi (engineering honor society)
President of advisory committee for the student health center
1 month spent exploring medicine in Indonesia this summer (I lived there as a child)
Team captain for Breast cancer walk team
Started group to mentor lower classmen


I just want to stay close to NM.

What are my chances?

I already completed my interviews at UNM.

How did the interview go? Did you express your strong interest in an acceptance at the interview or via an update letter?

Overall, I'd say your chances are very good for NM, but I certainly hope you applied to some other schools, too. If asked prior to submission, I'd have suggested that you shadow a primary care doc, too, but if you want something pertinent to include in a future update letter, it's not too late to get that done.
 
I did express my strong interest in the interview.

I also applied to other med schools.

My interviews were good. One of my interviews was more of a discussion for over 2.5hrs.
