Want to go MD What are my chances? Live in Texas I have taken the MCAT twice. Once with a 26, then a 504 MCAT. I am doing pretty well in school with a GPA around 3.9 (with A-/A+ curriculum). I am a scribe in the ER and have been doing that for a year. I have also been researching at a medical school for some time now. My extra-curriculars are limited outside of that. Other than some minimum volunteering and extensive shadowing before that.

Well you can apply to all your Texas schools and your strong GPA will help you but with your MCAT scores you should also apply to at least 10 DO schools. You could apply to some of the newer OOS MD schools such as Quinnipiac, Oakland Beaumont, Western Michigan, Roseman. You should be competitive for many DO schools and there will be 2 in Texas by 2017.
