I took the april MCAT and got PS: 12 VR: 13 B:13 WS:L... I want to apply to MD/PhD prorams, but I am not sure how negatively the L will affect my chances. I actually CAN write well, I swear! I was thinking maybe I should get a letter from one of my English Prof's to send in with my secondary. Do you think that is a good idea? Do I still have a chance of getting an interview? Let me know what you think.

Thanks!
Denny

geeeeeeeeeez,,,,,,,,you'll be fine. just write a damn good personal statement

What did you write about on your essays? Did you follow the instructions?

can you say "duplicate post?" how do you get a 13 verbal and L writing score?

anyway, i was under the impression that they didn't really care (assuming your application essay was coherent).

From what i understand, your committment to research is more essential than your mcat scores for mstp programs...

This is a duplicate post. I will refer any interested parties to the same thread in the MD/PhD forum here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=129166

BTW, my writing sample score was an O. The writing sample score has very little impact on your application. I would call it a non-issue. In response to SunnyS81, MCAT score and Research Experience are both very important for MD/PhD. I wouldn't say that either are necessarily more important than the other. A very high MCAT score could help someone with low research experience (but of course not none), while a low MCAT score (of course not really low) could be balanced out by excellent research experience. Either of these scenarios would be contigent upon a high GPA (probably >3.8!).
