is this accurate? the recruiter---all of whom act as if it is their first day on the job--- said it would take 4 to 6 months for me to enter the guard?

In what context are you joining the Guard?

For ASR, most turnaround time was 3-6 months. Expect more if you have any waivers that need approval (especially these days).

If it's four months between the time you call your recruiter and the time you raise your right hand, you're doing well for yourself.
