5-FU impairs DNA synthesis. Does 5-FU cause megaloblastic or nonmegaloblastic anemia?

megaloblastic i think. It gets converted into 5-FdUMP, which forms a complex with folic acid adn inhibits thymidylate synthase..so folic acid consumption and inhibition of DNA synthesis may lead to megaloblastic anemia
