511 MCAT, 3.55c GPA, 3.4s GPA

Hi all,

Just trying to get some peace of mind before dropping all this money on primaries.

I understand my GPA is slightly low for MD programs, so I'm applying DO (10 DO schools) as well, but I want to focus on my MD list right now!

Just based off my stats (my EC, LORs, and clinical experiences are all good) and the fact that I have over 1500+ hours of clinical experience, what do you guys think of my list?

Hofstra
Michigan State
Oakland University
University of Michigan (reach)
Rosalind Franklin
Rush
Western Michigan
Wayne State
Central Michigan
Wake Forest
Temple
Qunnipac
Toledo

I'm a Michigan resident. I'm hoping for some love from my in-state schools.
I was also thinking about adding Georgetown but is that just a waste of money?

Chances are so-so - did you checkyour LizzyM score?

you prob won't get into tufts or U mich; did you have an upward trend in GPA?

I wouldn't add georgetown unless you have the money

your MCAT is not terrible so that might be what saves your 3.4 sGPA

Tufts and Hofstra are reaches so you can remove those. Georgetown would be more realistic. You could add schools such as:
New York Medical College
Eastern Virginia
Medical College Wisconsin
Creighton

I think my LizzyM score was like a 67 or something like that, not too stellar. I'm not really sure what that actually means though, all my schools were in the range indicated. But I'm hoping my clinical experience will hold weight at some places.
I know I probs won't get into U Mich, but I went there for undergrad so there's still a little bit of wolverine left in me.
