Hi All!

I am wondering about my chances, given that my sGPA is not stellar. Here's some info:

Major: Psychology
Research: 500 hours split between two psych labs (both medicine adjacent) + poster at large medical conference + honors thesis
Clinical volunteer: 200 hours as a volunteer EMT
Non-clinical volunteer: 250 hours tutoring educationally underserved
Leadership: 1000+ hours as an editor for my school's research journal (eventually Editor in Chief)
Shadowing: 300 hours across a ton of different specialties (as part of a summer internship)
Other: Part of a selective (40 students per year at a large university) honors program that focused on the humanities
MCAT: 521 (130/129/130/132)

I graduated in 2020 and am working full time at a psychological institute as a research & editorial assistant. I am a Missouri resident, but did undergrad/year of employment in NYC. I am ORM. Here is my school list:
  • Feeling cautiously optimistic about my chances: U of Missouri, U of Kansas, St. Louis University, U of Colorado, SUNY, U of Wisconsin
  • Feeling unsure about my chances: Case Western, Brown, Dartmouth, Georgetown (bc it is low yield)
  • Definitely want to apply, but not optimistic about my chances: Sinai, Cornell, Columbia, Mayo, Michigan, UCSF
  • Unsure about whether to apply: Duke, Harvard, Stanford, Wake Forest

Are there any glaring omissions and/or inappropriate additions here? Like I said, I am worried that my sGPA will bar me from some of those top tier schools. All advice is appreciated!

All those schools are appropriate with your stats but Wake Forest will yield protect so remove that school. You could add these schools:
Washington University
Miami
USF Morsani
U Virginia
Hofstra
Einstein
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
Rochester

Thank you! I left Wash U off the list because I've heard that their admissions process is less holistic, and my sGPA is lower than their 10th percentile. You think it is worth a shot, though? I'm also wondering about NYU and Yale for the same reasons.
