just some advice:

DO NOT DO THIS!!

I did and felt extremely wired, unfocused, and heart rate through the roof for the whole ~4hours. It also made me have to pee 4 separate times during the test, so I had to leave 4 different times and probably lost several minutes at least of time I could have been working. My brother took a 5hr energy for his LSAT today and had the same experience.

my advice is to take some nuts with you to the exam and eat them during the break (I like cashews). Protein = sustained energy, carbs will only give you energy for a short period.

It's funny you mention this because I took about 1/4 of one before my exam (tried one for the fist time a few days previously) and drank about a half of a small Red Bull (I absolutely love Red Bull, I drink it before every college exam and always do well on them) and I swear between the nervousness and the caffeine I felt like I was going to pass out at the beginning. I was just so nervous mainly, but then eased myself into the test with the vocab section and went on from there.

I didn't have to go to the restroom save for the break, but mainly because I didn't down a gallon of coffee like I do most mornings heh. Anyway, the moral of the story is to stick to your normal 'energy' routine except for coffee.

After my own experience with using various different types of energy drinks while taking organic chem, I pretty much vowed to stay away and only drink coffee if I needed something. I definitely would not take an energy drink if you usually don't drink any - experimenting on your own body with energy drinks while taking important exams = bad idea. Just make sure to sleep the night before!!

On the idea of snacks though, I usually take half a slice of wheat bread with some peanut butter. It fits nicely into a sandwich bag, makes no noise to eat, has no strong smell, it's quick to eat and gives you a mixture of both fast energy + longer lasting energy. Make sure you have a bottle of water though, don't want to sit there feeling thirsty.

Before the test, I went to Dunkin Donuts and drank a small coffee w/a shot of expresso. I also had a peanut butter granola bar and a bit of water at break. Worked great!

Protein (protein bar or some eggs for breakfast) and natural sugar (fruit). Then a granola bar and some juice for the break.

Carbs/sugar/caffeine will make you crash and burn.

wow what compelled you to use it? i mean, it's pretty much written everywhere that you shouldn't drink any caffeinated drink before the test let alone an energy drink on steroids

thanks for sharing though. i'm sure there are some who didn't know.
