5th Year?

Hey guys, I am a Canadian, and hoping to apply to American schools at the end of my 4th year. However, to make myself more competitive for Canadian schools I plan on taking a 5th year for sure.

Is that looked upon negatively? Or should I be okay as long as I don't take ridiculous first year classes?

Doesn't matter. As long as you aren't taking ridiculous classes as you mentioned, you should be fine.
