Best care scenario, they say yes.It doesn't hurt to try. Submit your resignation request with your COs endorsement to the correct division of your services bureau of personnel. Do it a year prior to proposed resignation. The worst they can do is say no (while licking your tears and eating your hopes and dreams, of course).

Most likely case: you give your CO something to laugh about. Which is nice.
