6R Verbal

I thought it was much harder than 3R-5R. I got 10s on those and just go 8 (1 question away from 9) on 6R. Should I be worried or just ignore it? I didn't study for the verbal at all, concentrated on the sciences.

I would be worried...6R and AAMC 7 are supposed to be very indicative of the real MCAT since they are more recent. Just practice some verbal passages in the upcomming week.

i wouldn't worry. i think everyone can have an off day in verbal. i thought i was this verbal master who got a lot of 11s on the EK tests and an 11 on 4R...then i got a 9...one q away from an 8....on 5R...then a 12 on 6R and an 11 on 7 today.

I guess the moral of the story is that you can have an off day or get a stupid passage...That's whats scary about the mcat I think. At any rate, I would forget about it, plan on a 10 and go in there and get it.

i personally thought the verbal on 6R was easier than the 3R-5R. But then , my ******* barely made a 9. Once again I didn't finish the last passage and got killed on the freaking formalist critic passage. I missed 5 questions on the formalist critic. Time to go hang myself now!

i got the same thing on 6R as i had gotten on 3, 4, and 5. at least i'm consistent!

Thanks for responding guys. I hated that formalist critic passage. Still have 7R left and I refuse to get anything less than 10 on its verbal.

i took poetry last semester, and my teacher wrote her Phd in formalist criticism ... needless to say i aced that passage

unfortunately, other passages took me down

Don't worry about it ... I got a 10 on 5R and 7, a 9 on 4R and 6R, and a 10 on the real deal. Just wait and see how you do on 7.
