try applying. you never know what may come out of it! I mean you know next year is coming so why not just applyand see what happens. if nothing comes out of it then it will be next year and you can try again. what's the harm in that? I've heard of too many ppl applying with, what they thought were not so good scores, and they ended up getting accepted. just try like the little engine who could....... 🙂 👍

Adcom means admissions committee.

Have you considered applying for DO?

Go Bruins! 🙂
Thats gonna be your best bet, I would not waste the money applying to MD schools other than maybe your state schools. That MCAT is pretty low for the allopathic schools, considering your gpa and that you will not be considered a URM. How are your ec's, lor's, and clinical experiences?Good Luck!

I agree with this, except that her state schools are all ultra-competitive ... I don't think it would even be worth applying to them.

berrytart, is there any chance that you can retake the MCAT?

Thanks for all the advice you guys =). Feel free to leave some more feedback. I know my chances are low but applying to med school is a crap shoot in itself..keke so I'm only applying to few this year..then if nothing comes out of it I'll def apply next year. 😉

Thats a great attitude, but you really should plan on doing something between now and then to raise your gpa, mcat, or both. Good Luck!

If you feel like you can do better on the MCAT and you're willing to take it again my advice is to do a postbacc program and retake the mcat next April. If you don't want to retake or wait I think you should apply to medical schools whose students have lower average scores and I think you should read up on DO schools to see if that is right for you. I also think you should look into MD schools like Ponce in Puerto Rico and la Universidad del Caribe.

is there any disadvantage to applying this year without any acceptances and then applying again next year? Once a med school rejects you will they ever consider you again?
