so i know we shud know the difference between 1,2 and 1,4 addition (where each attacks), but do we need to know which reagants cause which to occur? EK barely covers this topic, and neither does TPR. thanks.

i do not believe you do.

generally weaker ones will do 1,4 addition such as organo cuprate

and stronger ones will attack 1,2.

i think if it's presented, it'll be explained in the passage.
