Since we are starting a new cycle and there are a million threads asking for advice on where to apply or wanting to know their chances, I hope my two cents may be helpful:

Do your homework. I'm not trying to be rude. I know that this is an overwhelming process. It is perfectly understandable for a new pre-dent to ask around because they have no clue (I'm just as guilty as anyone), but there is a better way. The resources are out there and whatever your question is, someone has probably already answered it. Search for your questions before you post a new thread. Now I know most of you just don't know any better, however some of you are just being lazy. You need to know that it is inconsiderate to expect others to provide you the same answers that we found on our own. This is a sharing community, but don't expect other people to help you when you are too lazy to find the information for yourself.

The bottom line is the majority of the information you are seeking is already on here. People will be much more likely to help you if you are asking unique questions that demonstrate that you have thoroughly studied out the problem.

The places to start are:

-ADEA Guide to Dental Schools (worth it's weight in gold)
http://www.adea.org/publications/Pages/OfficialGuide.aspx

-The Stickied Shreads (These should be required reading before you can post)
"What Schools Should I Apply To/What Are My Chances?"
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=635046
"New Applicants - PLEASE READ!!!!"
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=300755

-School Specific Discussions

When you do ask a questions (after searching for similar threads) make sure you post in the right place.

Best of luck to you. You stay classy Pre-dents. ;)
