Just got my orders with oath of office form. A very nice lady with the Army told me over the phone that the oath did not necessarily need to be signed by an officer, but that merely getting the form notarized would suffice. I had never heard of this before, but I am fairly ignorant about these matters. So I took the form down to my bank to get it notarized, and the notary just about told me I'm an idiot, and said he's not authorized to notarize military oaths, but I made him do it anyway. So which is true? Are notaries ok? There are not a lot of officers convenient in Orlando.
