I have two main ideas I'm considering:

a) Sports

b) Culture

So common, and not a cool factor thing to say "I fought ignorance". You're supposed to do that!

I'd prefer B if you tell me more about what you know about Eastern Medicine and the viewpoint of the people in the US who you know that practice it while rejecting Western Medicine. That knowledge and point of view might bring diversity to the class.

I agree that B is better. But I'd also suggest re-phrasing it a bit (i.e. using actual medicine might be necessary to help them get the proper treatments for medical issues.) Are you qualified to state that Eastern/alternative medicine is not actual medicine and are not proper treatments?

Obviously, I would more context, but that is one way how your statement can raise a few eyebrows that does not reflect well on you (in my opinion).
