if you have a diagnostic cast for class II modification I, how do you go about making a design for RPD? do you have to take the mod I into consideration as well?

That's what I was thinking. You don't HAVE to take it into consideration, but your patient won't be very pleased to see they still have an empty space when their partial is in.

lol i am just a beginner in rpd. we were given some notes on how to construct the design but i cant find anything on modifications.

You must be confused on how to design the framework. Am I right? Because a modification is just an edentulous area, and you replace that space with teeth.

yeah, i have a Kennedy class II mod I cast.

What you need to do is first get ur path of insertion, and then undercuts and then see where u can place ur clasps and rests. Once you have that, you will know how to design the framework.
