Hi everyone,
I am going to spoil myself with a toy for med school, and I was wondering what handheld you guys would recommend that I should get. I am a mac person, so the handheld should be compatible with my mac. Do any of you have any recommendations for me?

Thanks!

I have a G3 Notebook that I can IR my Palm with. It's great--no wires or anything for my two toys to talk to each other! I have a Palm III right now, and thinking about upgrading to a V or a VII. I don't know about other PDAs, but the Palm OS is compatible with Mac across the board (another Applite friend also has a Palm). Also, since Palm is so ubiquitous, all major medical programs that you could want should have versions for Palm.

I'm in LOVE with my palm V, the color version. It's awesome and so very versatile. But once you start adding one application after another, the memory starts adding up, and for sure I have to buy a memory card soon or later to accomodate even more data.

I'd recommend saving cash and using pen+paper instead. Also, in a couple years, we might need to get the latest thing anyway....I saw at some schools that the rotation students carry them around instead of those small medical books...

I just recently bought a Palm m505. I'm not using it to its full potential yet, but its a pretty cool toy! And its perfectly compatible with my ~5 year old Mac. As long as you have a USB port, you're good to go (I had to put a USB card in my computer, as its pre-USB).

my brother just brought me a palm m505 for graduation. I am still playing around with it!!!

I have a Handspring Visor Pro, and it's all I need for now. I'm not going to use the thing to write any papers or figure out calc problems. I use it to schedule my day, week, month, year, etc. I also use it as a phone book, too.

It all depends on what you're going to use your handheld for.
