Hey folks,

I was just checking out the AAMC website for something a student asked me about and I saw that the AAMC would be releasing Practice Test V in January. Thought some of you would like to know.

Great! Just another scheme the AAMC can use to rob students.

I found the practice tests very helpful when studying for the MCAT, as I didn't take a prep course. You don't want it, don't buy it. Test yourself other ways.

AAMC practice tests are the closest predictor of how you will do on the actual MCAT, because they are REAL MCATs! They're definitely not a ripoff! Get them and take them!

This just goes to show how quickly the MCAT is evolving. The number of applicants has shrunk a nice percent, in the past years, however the quality of the students has increased with higher MCATs and GPAs. Basically, a wall is been built and students that can't afford prep courses or top notch educations won't bother to apply because of substanially lower MCAT scores. Twenty-five years from now, the applicant pool will decrease from 38,000 currently to 28,000, with average applicant stats hovering 3.85, and 37 MCATs, a marked difference from the current 3.55 and 30 MCAT.
