Could someone give me an example of each of these:
1. The Thomas theorum
2. Impression management
3. Back stage self
4. Hawthorne effect

Thanks!

Impression management:
There are different types ( like managing appearances, ingratiation)
so it varies, but in a nutshell it's basically a means of "keeping up with appearances" or trying to give yourself a more positive view from others.

3. Back stage self: It's basically your unfiltered self. Ex. Someone who's really kind an polite in the work place (front stage), but once they get home they're loud and swear a lot (back stage)

4. Hawthorne effect
A teacher watches you so you do your work
A police officer watches you so don't miss behave.

I'm drawing a blank on the first one though?

The thomas theorum is the idea that “If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences.” This means that if you believe something is true (even if it isn't), the consequences will be real. For instance, if you believe you are going to do terrible on the MCAT (even though you are a super genius), you will likely do terrible on the MCAT because you are anxious about it or maybe because you are not giving it your best effort. Here is another example:
