The board still is good to have when you are applying for hospital privileges. The hospital staff department do not care where this is from most of time, they preferably want you have a board in the subspecialty you are going to practice from some accredited organization.

Wouldn't the Neurophysiology Boards from the ABPN serve the same purpose? I would be interested in hearing from people who have taken the AANEM boards as to what motivated them to do so.
