Does anyone know how the ITE is scored? Is it strictly the percentage of questions answered correctly, or do they give you more or less credit depending upon the question difficulty?

How many questions does the average PGY1, 2, and 3 miss? I have heard that the biggest jump occurs between years 1 and 2.

Thanks!

Compared to the DO exam, that exam was tough. Yikes. I heard we jump a lot from our intern year to our 2nd year as well and then not so much after that, comparatively.

Thanks for your reply, Bacchus. I felt the same way. I was vacillating between two answers for many of the questions (and usually made the wrong choice).

Two scores. First is a raw score based on number you got right. That score is a good predictor of board pass rates. The second is a percentile for your year of training. That's the one your program cares about because they want to make sure you're at least equal to most other residents out there.

Most people have the largest jump in raw score between 1st and 2nd year.

Anyone know when they'll put the exam questions up online. I miss having the booklet like in previous years. I know the scores will come out in late December along with answer critiques.

Questions and answers should be up on Monday (11/4) on ABFM's website per my PC.

My biggest score jump was between PGY-2 and PGY-3, mostly because I started REALLY reading the AFP Journal consistently. That's where a lot of the question topics come from.
