Hi everyone,

Like most of you, I'm getting ready to apply for the 2011 cycle, but as it's my first time applying, I have a couple of questions. If you know the answers to them, that'll be great!

Are LOEs and LORs the same thing?

Is an LOR a form with questions that your reference fills out or an actual letter your reference writes up?

Thanks in advance for your input!

interchangable terms, from what i know.

except when you are asking a prof that does not know you too well, you say "letter of evaluation" instead of recommendation so as to sound less out of place?:laugh::laugh:

Thanks for the reply.

is it a form provided by the AADSAS or a letter written by the prof him/herself

Letter by the professor, generally. They get alot of requests from students and usually know what format they will write in for you. Your school might require you to send a formal request from an office to that professor, but you should ask them personally to make sure they know your face.
