I know must of us still have certain schools leaving us on edge, but I am curious as to how many of us are definitely sure that they will attend a certain school. So, who are you? What school? Reasons? and anything else you'd like to add.

The hotter the battle the sweeter the victor.

I decided that I don't want to do research or academic medicine, so where I go to school doesn't matter that much. I know I want to live in TX after med school & residency, and UTHSCSA has a great reputation within the state (hopefully elsewhere too). The tuition for all 4 years (4*6500=26000) is about what 1 year at most private schools costs, and housing is inexpensive too. San Antonio is a great city, the students are friendly, and everyone seems to enjoy it there. I can accomplish all my career goals, save money, and have a (relatively) fun time doing it. What more do you want? (besides prestige, which I could give 2 sh*ts about)

This thread died pretty quickly. Guess I'm the only one who's dead set on one school.

I'm headed to Kentucky, but unfortunately my tuition will be ~4000 a year higher than yours. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

I am seriously set on Johns Hopkins but I can't put all my eggs in one basket. I might go Early Decision, but if it doesn't work...then I will burst forth into a supernova of fury, flooding in the magma of my apocalyptic wrath.

    Jamier2,
10k a year is still a steal compared to high 20s or 30+/year

  8. University of Michigan. From California (UCLA undergrad). I want to be in a college town for the next four years of my life.... that is what I love... and Ann Arbor is the best college town I have ever been to. I thought the people there were awesome. And their training is excellent.

Cornell!!! Damn, I want to go there so bad that I can taste it. I have 3 acceptances so far but I am waiting to hear from Cornell. If they accept me, that is it. I am going there. I guess I should send some letter to them telling them how much I liked it and how much I want to go. I will do that soon.
