Hey party people,

I'm giving a talk on antibiotic resistance - particularly related to coverage we often start in the ED. Everything is game from PNA/UTI/undiff sepsis to the need for 2x blood Cx or even how to culture a central line.

If there's anything you think might be important - please post a note. The talk's audience is academic ED physicians but I want some prospective from IM/ID. Feel free to start it off as "It really pisses me off when..."

I think it'd be great to have a slide with a bunch of quotes and then address the individual issues.

it really pisses me off when the ED starts the abx BEFORE drawing blood cx's

it furthermore really pisses me off, when the ED lets an admitted patient sit for hours without abx
